Terms of Service
Effective date: 12 September 2026 · Applies to lucidtickets.com platform
Acceptance of these terms
By browsing lucidtickets.com, buying a ticket, or creating an organizer account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are buying a ticket on behalf of someone else, you are confirming you are authorized to accept these terms for that purchase.
Definitions
- Platform: LucidTickets, the website and service that lists events and processes ticket sales on behalf of organizers.
- Organizer: the person or business that creates and runs an event, and is responsible for it actually happening.
- Attendee: anyone who buys or holds a ticket.
- Event: anything listed for sale or only advertised on the Platform.
- Ticket: a right of entry to one event, issued as a signed QR code and a short reference code.
- Door Staff: an account an organizer creates to scan tickets at the door for one specific event. It can verify tickets but cannot see that event’s sales or payouts.
Accounts & eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an organizer account or to buy a ticket. Attendees do not need an account to buy a ticket: a name, email, and phone number are enough. Organizer accounts are reviewed before they can publish a live, bookable event; we can decline or suspend an organizer account at our discretion, including after approval, if we believe these terms have been broken. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for all activity under your account, including any door staff accounts you create. Minors may attend an event on a ticket bought by an adult where the organizer and applicable law permit it.
Buying a ticket
All prices are shown and charged in Ugandan Shillings (UGX). Payment is processed by Relworx, a licensed third-party payment provider. The Platform never sees or stores your card or mobile money PIN. The price shown at checkout is the full amount you pay; the Platform’s commission is deducted from the organizer’s share, not added on top.
A ticket reservation is held for 15 minutes while you complete payment. If payment is not completed in that window, the reservation is released and the tickets become available to other buyers again.
Ticket delivery and entry
Once payment is confirmed, your ticket is emailed to you, made available as a PDF download, or both, depending on what you chose at checkout. Each ticket carries a unique signed QR code and a short reference code.
A ticket is valid for one entry only. It cannot be used for a different event, and it cannot be resold. Treat it like cash. Keep it private, do not share the QR code or reference code with anyone else, and make sure you can access it before you head to the event. If something goes wrong and you cannot present it at the door, speak to the event’s staff. They may be able to help, but there is no guarantee, so the safest option is always to have your ticket ready.
Cancellations & refunds
An organizer or the Platform may cancel or reschedule an event. If that happens, we will email everyone with a confirmed ticket. If an event is rescheduled rather than cancelled, your existing ticket stays valid for the new date; if you cannot make it, contact us to discuss a refund. Refund requests for a cancelled event are reviewed and processed manually by our team on a case-by-case basis. Refunds are not automatic, and there is no self-service “cancel my order” option once a ticket is confirmed. Contact us (see Section 13) with your booking details to start a refund request.
Refunds for buyer’s remorse (you simply changed your mind) are at the organizer’s discretion, not guaranteed.
Organizer terms
Every event goes through admin review before it is published and can take bookings. We are checking that it is a real, legitimate event, not evaluating whether it will sell well.
Commission and payouts. The Platform takes a commission on each ticket sold, set at the prevailing rate shown in your dashboard. All payments are collected centrally through Relworx; we do not split or forward funds automatically. Your share is reviewed and paid out manually after the event, using the payout method and details you provide, not instantly per sale.
Your responsibilities. You are solely responsible for the event actually happening as advertised: venue, permits, performers, safety, and anything else required by law. Door entry is managed by staff accounts you create and control; the Platform provides the verification tools, not the people at your gate.
Prohibited conduct
- Forging, duplicating, or tampering with a ticket, QR code, or reference code.
- Attempting to circumvent, script, or automate ticket scanning or checkout.
- Scraping the Platform or accessing it through anything other than the interfaces we provide.
- Reselling a ticket above face value, unless the organizer has explicitly permitted it.
- Impersonating another person, business, or organizer.
- Using the Platform for an unlawful event or purpose.
We can void tickets, suspend accounts, or refuse service in response to any of the above.
Our role & liability
LucidTickets is a ticketing and payment-facilitation platform. We are not the producer, promoter, or operator of any event; that is the organizer. We are not responsible for an event’s quality, safety, timing, or whether it happens at all, beyond facilitating a refund process where one is due.
In short: we are liable for getting your payment and ticket right. The organizer is liable for the event itself.
To the extent permitted by law, the Platform’s liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
Your data
We collect the name, email, and phone number you provide at checkout, and payment confirmation details from Relworx (not your card number or mobile money PIN). This data is used to issue and verify your ticket and to contact you about the event. If you provide it to an organizer at checkout, it is also visible to that organizer for their own sales record. We handle this data in line with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Platform evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above; continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and any dispute arising from them falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
